My audio starts off as a morning routine. You hear the water running and eggs being made. I think one mistake I made was I made the morning routine too long. My main point was to have the person take a hit of a bong and then have this moment of clarity and remember their childhood. I was getting really into the idea of visualizing a morning routine. As the audio continues, I tried to make it seem like the person was leaving their place and going on a bus. As they were on the bus the noise begins to get louder and louder. I wanted to give the listener anxiety. I added a bunch of sounds on top of each other. I wanted to have it sound like a regular bus at first, but then I added more buses and typing and phone calls. The ringing of the phone calls gives me anxiety, so I kept adding them during quiet moments. It is very apparent at the end when the ringing brings the person back to reality. The sounds of the memories are calm and are brought in by a ukulele. I play uke so I felt this was a nice transition. Then the sounds of chickens start playing over the uke. I’m very much into nature and animals so I added this and the sounds of children playing at a park. It’s a very bright and energetic yet calmness or simplicity to these sounds that drew me to them. I finished it off with the ringing of the phone then scary violin music as reality sets back in.
