Universal Principles of Depicting Oneself across the Centuries: From Renaissance Self-Portraits to Selfie-Photographs.

Self-imagery through oil, sketching, or photography is really a portal to the innermost part of yourself. When artists draw themselves or other people, they will purposefully add items in the background to let the viewer in on a little part of who they are or their lifestyle.
